It's Christmas Season!

So i decorated for Christmas earlier than I normally do. I have to admit when we looked at our house to buy one, of the first things I did was decide where the eventual tree would go and envisioned how great the house would look decorated. So I was a bit excited about decorating! We went to a tree farm day after Thanksgiving to cut down a tree. It was very cold but a lot of fun. We rode on a horse drawn wagon to where the trees were. Larry and I decided that cutting down our own tree would be the start of a family tradition. We had our first Michigan flurries while we were there! Still haven't had any "Michigan Snow" as I was expecting but I know it will come soon enough.

Did they leave the cake?!

So we had our very first Thanksgiving at our house! Grandma and Grandpa came and enjoyed it with us as well as my good friend April and her family. I made the turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole and a jello salad. Grandma Gooss made green beans, gravy, and stuffing. April brought rolls and two amazing desserts. Caylee loved the chocolate cake that April brought. She loved it soo much that after our friends left I asked her if she had fun playing with her friend Jordie and she replied with a big smile, "Did they leave the cake?" We of course, couldn't stop laughing :) Kids say the funniest things!

Sallie's 1st Birthday!

Sallie turned one! We celebrated her birthday a few days late since the girls and I were on our way out of town on her birthday. We made her a chocolate cake with chocolate icing and invited our good friends and neighbors Laura, Jason, and Avery over to celebrate with us. I think she enjoyed the cake especially the icing and really loved her birthday present. We gave her a baby doll. She loves to play with Caylee's dolls and Caylee isn't always willing to share them so she got her own to play with whenever she wants.

caylee loves her daddy!

Larry has been doing his last rotation this month in Alleghany, VA. Alleghany is an hour an a half away, so he's only been coming home twice a week. Caylee has really missed her daddy while he's been gone.
Larry had a half day yesterday, so came home to spend the rest of the day and evening with us. The first thing Caylee said this morning when she woke up was, "where daddy go?" . I told her that daddy had to go work at the hospital. She looked at me as if she was going to cry and said "Noo!! mommy go to hopipal".

Michigan here we come!

If you haven't already heard Larry and I are moving to Michigan in May. He'll be starting his general surgery residency in June at Genesys Regional Medical Center. We're moving to Grand Blanc, which is about 45 min. to an hour away from Detroit. We're very excited about the move and are really looking forward to finally owning our first home. (we know to expect plenty of snow!)

Welcome!

Welcome to the Gooss family blog! Since I'm horrible at returning phone calls and even worse at writing emails I decided to try blogging. I am hoping this will be a good way to stay in contact with family and friends. I'll try to keep everyone as up to date as possible but we may find that I'm awful at blogging as well. =))!
